MONTGOMERY, IL – A family is grieving following a blaze Sunday that left a man was dead in the 1800 block of Ness Way.
According to Montgomery Police, it was roughly 8:30 a.m. when officers and fire crews arrived at the residence. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze while attempting to locate occupants.
One man was located inside the home and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Montgomery Fire Department and the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
The name of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
