Kalamazoo, MI – Commuters in southwest Michigan should prepare for traffic delays as a major resurfacing project on I-94 begins, September 8, 2026.

According to the Michigan Department of Transportation, the $740,000 project covers 1.6 miles of highway between Sawyer Road at Exit 12 and Helmer Road at Exit 95. The construction, which involves daily single-lane closures, is scheduled to continue through November 13, 2026.
