Traverse City Crash: Unoccupied Cadillac Hits Construction Equipment

Traverse City, MI – Law enforcement officials are investigating a vehicle collision that occurred within a construction zone on September 3, 2026. The incident involved an unoccupied Cadillac that struck a road grader and a curb near the intersection of 3 Mile Road and Hammond Road.

According to the Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office, the 2017 Cadillac was found abandoned following the crash. The vehicle had entered a closed construction zone before impacting the heavy equipment. There were no occupants found inside the vehicle at the scene.

The Grand Traverse County Sheriff's Office is currently overseeing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Lt.
