Jackson County, FL – The Jackson County Sheriff ’s Office reported that a traffic stop on Highway 69 earlier this week resulted in the arrest of a local man on drug related charges. The incident occurred when a deputy initiated a stop for a traffic violation, leading to the discovery of illegal substances.
According to the sheriff's office, the vehicle eventually stopped in a nearby driveway, at which point a passenger, identified as Josh Patrick, exited the vehicle and began walking toward a residence. A deputy instructed Patrick to return to the vehicle, and he complied with the order. During the subsequent investigation, deputies found a glass smoking pipe inside the vehicle, which Patrick reportedly admitted was his.
Authorities stated that they also discovered two bags containing approximately 6.25 grams of suspected methamphetamine near a fence line that Patrick had been near moments earlier. Upon questioning, Patrick allegedly confessed that the bags belonged to him and admitted to throwing them over the fence during the encounter. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail.
Patrick faces formal charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office emphasized that resources are available for individuals struggling with substance use.
