Chicago, IL – Northern Illinois and northwest Indiana are heading into a mainly dry and seasonable stretch through early next week, although some areas could see a few sprinkles Friday morning before temperatures fall sharply after sunset.
According to the National Weather Service in Chicago, Friday highs are expected to reach 65 to 69 degrees , followed by overnight lows ranging from 48 to 56 degrees .
Saturday will bring partly cloudy conditions with highs between 66 and 73 degrees . Overnight showers or sprinkles could develop near and west of Interstate 39, while lows fall to between 46 and 55 degrees .
Another small rain chance arrives Sunday morning, primarily near and west of I 39. Otherwise, temperatures remain comfortable, with highs of 66 to 73 degrees and overnight lows of 47 to 56 degrees .
The warmest conditions are expected in and near Chicago and along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
Monday should remain mainly dry and partly cloudy, with highs climbing to 68 to 74 degrees . By Tuesday, temperatures could reach 68 to 75 degrees , while rain chances begin increasing.
The Weather Service shows a 20% to 30% chance of rain west of Interstate 55 during the day Tuesday , increasing to 50% to 60% Tuesday night .
Forecasters expect chances for more widespread, wetting rainfall to return around the middle of next week.
