Howard County, IN – One person was killed and four others were taken to hospitals after a Chrysler Pacifica and semi collided Wednesday evening at US 31 and State Road 26 in Howard County, according to Indiana State Police.

According to Indiana State Police, troopers responded just before 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9, to the intersection southwest of Kokomo. A preliminary investigation found a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica was traveling north on US 31 before exiting onto State Road 26.

At the same time, a 2003 Peterbilt semi tractor-trailer was traveling east on State Road 26. Police said the Chrysler entered the intersection and was struck by the Peterbilt.

Investigators noted that motorists exiting US 31 onto State Road 26 encounter a stop sign, while eastbound State Road 26 traffic does not have a stop sign.
