Hernando County, FL – A missing juvenile attempting to travel out of Florida was located at a regional airport and reunited with family following a multi agency effort, according to weekend briefing notes released by the Hernando County Sheriff ’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to a report involving a runaway juvenile in District 2, Zone 9. Working with airport law enforcement, authorities located the juvenile safely at a regional airport before departure.
The sheriff’s office did not identify the airport or provide additional information about the juvenile, citing restrictions on releasing details that could identify crime victims.
Deputies also reported safely locating two missing adults during separate incidents. One involved an adult with a medical condition who had walked away from a residence. Deputies found the person nearby in good health and returned the individual home.
Another adult was reported missing after leaving a residence following a disagreement. Authorities said the person was located in a neighboring jurisdiction, confirmed safe and declined additional assistance.
In a separate incident, deputies responded to a commercial location following a physical dispute between people who knew each other. Property was allegedly taken by force, prompting a search involving K 9 and drone resources. Deputies later located a suspect allegedly in possession of the property and made an arrest on robbery charges.
The weekend briefing also detailed an incident at Springstead High School involving a physical altercation between two students. Following an investigation, the student identified by authorities as the alleged aggressor was arrested and transported to a juvenile detention facility.
