Kane County public health officials are warning residents after a bat found in an unincorporated area near St. Charles tested positive for rabies on Aug. 28.
The Kane County Health Department advises residents not to touch or attempt to capture bats or other wild animals. Anyone who may have had direct contact with a bat should seek medical guidance promptly, particularly when an animal is found inside a home or is behaving unusually.
