Universities are expanding programs focused on viewpoint diversity, civil dialogue and liberal democracy. Washington University’s Gephardt Institute, established in 2005, combines classroom study with hands on projects, fellowships and voting initiatives. Its growing participation reflects student interest in addressing polarization and creating civic change, offering a closer look at how experiential education builds engagement skills.
