OELWEIN, IA – A 41 year old Iowa man wanted on multiple charges involving alleged sexual offenses against a minor was arrested Thursday evening in Fayette County, where a subsequent search warrant led to additional drug related charges.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff 's Office, a deputy conducted a wanted person check at approximately 5:03 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at a residence located at 705 W. Charles St. in Oelwein.
During the investigation, authorities took Travis Ray Manning, 41, of Oelwein, into custody on an active arrest warrant issued in Delaware County.
The warrant involved allegations of grooming, enticing a minor under 16 for a sexual purpose, and dissemination and exhibition of obscene material to minors.
Authorities have not released additional information about the alleged offenses or the circumstances surrounding the Delaware County investigation.
Later that evening, at approximately 5:47 p.m., deputies executed a search warrant at the same West Charles Street residence.
Following the search, Manning was additionally charged with third offense possession of marijuana, first offense possession of cannabidiol and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff's office.
The arrest connects investigations in two northeastern Iowa counties, with Manning facing the outstanding Delaware County warrant and newly filed drug related allegations in Fayette County.
Following his arrest, Manning was held at the Fayette County Jail for his initial court appearance.
Authorities said he would subsequently be transported to Delaware County to address the outstanding warrant.
The sheriff's office did not provide details about the quantities of substances allegedly recovered during the search or announce additional arrests.
