Dorchester County, SC – A discovery of human remains in a South Carolina neighborhood Wednesday morning has prompted an active death investigation, with sheriff's deputies and crime scene investigators responding to the area as residents are advised to expect an increased law enforcement presence.
According to the Dorchester County Sheriff 's Office, deputies assigned to Patrol Team One responded at approximately 10:34 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, to the 300 block of Dorchester Manor Boulevard following reports that human remains had been discovered.
The location is in Dorchester County, part of the greater Charleston metropolitan region.
Authorities confirmed that investigators from the sheriff's office Criminal Investigations Division and Crime Scene Unit were dispatched to examine the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the discovery remain under investigation.
