Darlington County, SC – A Hartsville area search warrant led to the seizure of approximately 80 grams of cocaine, three firearms and cash Thursday, resulting in the arrest of one person, authorities announced Friday.
According to the Darlington County Sheriff ’s Office, the Darlington County Combined Drug Unit and Special Incident Response Team executed a search warrant Oct. 1 at a residence in the 1800 block of Blanding Drive in the Hartsville area.
Darlington County deputies, Darlington city officers and Hartsville city officers participated in the operation, the sheriff’s office said.
During the search, investigators allegedly discovered approximately 80 grams of cocaine, three firearms and an unspecified amount of cash. Authorities said one of the firearms had been reported stolen from Chesterfield County.
Following the search, Farish Ervin was arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine, unlawful possession of a firearm by a person convicted of certain crimes and possession of a stolen firearm, according to the sheriff’s office.
Ervin was being held at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center and was awaiting a bond hearing Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The sheriff’s office described the case as an active investigation and said additional information could be released as investigators continue their work.
The charges against Ervin are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
