Cook County, IL – A 38 year old Cicero man is facing multiple felony drug charges after a Chicago area investigation allegedly uncovered a half kilo of suspected cocaine, other drugs, firearms and cash.
According to the Cook County Sheriff ’s Office, its Organized Crime Division and the FBI’s Windy City Gang Task Force began investigating Salvador Rodriguez, 38 , in August after authorities received information alleging he was selling illegal drugs.
Investigators executed a search warrant Sept. 22 at Rodriguez’s residence in the 13100 block of South 57th Court .
Authorities said they recovered approximately a half kilo of suspected cocaine, suspected cannabis, suspected psilocybin mushrooms and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Investigators also reported recovering two firearms, ammunition and both extended and drum magazines during the search.
Rodriguez was taken into custody and charged with manufacture or delivery of cocaine, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and manufacture or delivery of cannabis, according to the sheriff’s office.
Following his first appearance Sept. 23 at the Maywood Courthouse, Rodriguez was ordered into the custody of the Cook County Jail.
The sheriff’s office did not disclose the estimated street value of the suspected drugs or specify the amount of cannabis, psilocybin mushrooms or cash allegedly recovered.
The case involved investigators from the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Organized Crime Division working alongside members of the FBI’s Windy City Gang Task Force.
The charges against Rodriguez are allegations. He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
