Montgomery, IL Emergency crews responded Thursday evening to a reported chemical leak at the Rochester Midland Corporation, located at 2200 Diehl Road in Montgomery.
Authorities were called to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. following reports of a potential hazardous materials incident. Firefighters and hazmat teams established a perimeter to assess the situation and ensure the safety of employees and surrounding businesses.
The leak was reportedly contained within the facility's production area. No injuries were reported, and officials confirmed that there was no immediate threat to the public.
Crews remained on site for several hours to conduct clean up operations and investigate the cause of the leak. Traffic in the immediate vicinity of Diehl Road was temporarily restricted as emergency vehicles staged in the area.
