Aug. 13, 2026 Consumers who own Brookstone branded tabletop fire pits should stop using them because the products can cause serious or fatal burn injuries, according to a federal recall announced Thursday.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the fire pits may create uncontrolled pool fires when alcohol burns across the surface of pooled or spilled fuel. The products also can cause flame jetting from fuel containers, creating a risk of severe burns and fire.
The notice identifies the products as Brookstone branded tabletop fire pits sold by Southern Telecom. The recall announcement did not provide retailer information, product quantities or identifying lot and UPC details.
Consumers who have one of the fire pits should immediately stop using it and contact Southern Telecom for information about obtaining a refund or replacement. The CPSC advises consumers to avoid attempting to use the product until they receive further instructions from the manufacturer.
The hazard can occur when alcohol fuel escapes or pools on a surface and ignites, allowing flames to spread beyond the intended burner area. Flame jetting from a fuel container can also send fire unexpectedly toward nearby people or objects.
Consumers should keep the fire pits away from children and combustible materials while arranging the remedy. Anyone who experiences an injury or property damage connected to the product should seek appropriate assistance and report the incident to the CPSC.
