Braidwood, IL A Braidwood man was taken into custody Friday after allegedly discharging a firearm at an acquaintance during a July 4 incident involving a bulletproof vest.
The Incident Local authorities were dispatched to a residential area in Braidwood following reports of a domestic disturbance and shots fired. According to police, the suspect, a known felon, allegedly engaged in a confrontation with an acquaintance. During the argument, the suspect reportedly drew a handgun and fired multiple shots.
Bulletproof Vest According to reports, the victim was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the shooting, which reportedly prevented critical injury during the altercation. Braidwood Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Arrest The suspect was detained without further incident on Friday and is facing multiple charges, including aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. The suspect remains in custody pending a court appearance.
