BRADLEY, IL – Bradley Elementary School District 61 is set to welcome a new era of leadership. Christopher Hammond, a veteran educator with 24 years of experience, has been named the district’s new superintendent, according to an announcement from the board of education.
Hammond brings an extensive background in both the classroom and administrative roles. He began his career as a science teacher, a role he held for several years before moving into leadership positions within the public school system.
The search for the new superintendent involved a comprehensive selection process, which included community input and interviews with multiple candidates. The board noted that Hammond’s vision for the district’s academic future, combined with his dedication to student achievement and community engagement, made him an ideal fit for the position.
“We are excited to welcome Mr. Hammond to the Bradley Elementary family,” the board said in a statement. “His unique perspective, having served in the trenches as a science teacher, combined with his leadership experience, will be a tremendous asset as we continue to move the district forward.”
Hammond is expected to officially transition into the role in the coming weeks, where he will begin collaborating with the staff and administration to prepare for the upcoming semester.
