Macon, GA – A 21 year old man is facing a murder charge following a deadly shooting on Pio Nono Avenue in Macon, bringing a significant development in a Bibb County homicide investigation that began in October.
According to the Bibb County Sheriff 's Office, investigators arrested Antwuan Deshaun Sims, 21, in connection with the shooting death of Soraya Kiara Woodley. The shooting occurred Oct. 19, 2026, inside the 800 block of Pio Nono Avenue.
The sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division identified Sims as the suspect during its investigation into Woodley's death.
On Friday, Oct. 30, shortly after 3 p.m., Sims was discharged from Atrium Health Navicent after receiving treatment for an injury, authorities said.
Deputies took Sims into custody following his release from the hospital and transported him to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.
Sims has been charged with murder and is currently being held without bond , according to the sheriff's office.
