Moncks Corner, SC – Two men face multiple drug charges after a community tip led Berkeley County investigators to a College Park residence, where deputies say more than 22 pounds of marijuana and other suspected drugs were seized Thursday.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff ’s Office , Bryan Edward Korth, 45, of University Drive, and Malquan Curtis Pimentel, 38, of Sheep Island Road, were arrested following an investigation that began with a tip about suspected narcotics activity in June.
The sheriff’s office said its Narcotics Task Force, working with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Berkeley County Intelligence Unit and K9 Unit, executed a search warrant at the University Drive residence Thursday.
Authorities allege Korth received a package containing marijuana and later met with Pimentel. Deputies detained both men before Pimentel allegedly left the property, the sheriff’s office said.
Investigators reported finding approximately 22.63 pounds of marijuana , 75.75 grams of orange pills identified as methamphetamine , about 176 grams of psilocybin mushrooms , and assorted THC products, including vapes, resins, edibles and wax.
Korth was charged with trafficking marijuana between 10 and 100 pounds, trafficking methamphetamine between 28 and 100 grams, and possession with intent to distribute a Schedule I III controlled substance involving psilocybin, according to authorities.
Pimentel was charged with trafficking marijuana between 10 and 100 pounds and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation involved narcotics task force members from Berkeley County as well as the Hanahan, Goose Creek and Moncks Corner police departments.
The charges are allegations. Both defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
