Augusta Traffic Stop Leads to Major Drug and Weapon Seizure

Augusta, Maine – A traffic stop conducted early Thursday morning resulted in the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics and multiple firearms. The incident occurred on Bangor Street when a deputy pulled over a vehicle for displaying an expired license plate.

According to the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office, a subsequent search of the vehicle led deputies to recover 771 grams of cocaine HCL, 25.5 grams of methamphetamine, and several guns. Authorities confirmed that one of the recovered firearms had previously been reported as stolen.

A passenger in the vehicle, identified as 40-year-old Allen Glidden of Jefferson, was taken into custody. Glidden has been charged with drug trafficking and theft by receiving stolen property. He is currently being held on $25,000 cash bail while he awaits further legal proceedings regarding the items allegedly found in his possession.
