Little Rock, AR – Arkansas residents should prepare for widespread rainfall Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 3–4, as a storm system moves across the state. Forecasters indicate that many communities have a strong chance of receiving more than 1 inch of rain, while some locations could exceed 2 inches.
According to the National Weather Service in Little Rock, the approaching storm system will bring substantial rainfall opportunities to much of Arkansas, with the greatest chances for higher totals concentrated across portions of central, western and northern Arkansas.
More Than 2 Inches of Rain Possible The National Weather Service's latest precipitation outlook shows widespread probabilities of exceeding 1 inch of rainfall across much of the state.
Several areas have probabilities above 70% for receiving at least 1 inch, with some locations approaching or exceeding 80%.
The chance of rainfall totals exceeding 2 inches is lower but remains notable in portions of the forecast area.
Communities across central Arkansas, including Little Rock and surrounding Pulaski County, could experience periods of steady rainfall as the system passes through.
Rain Expected Tuesday Into Wednesday The approaching system is expected to bring increasing rain chances Tuesday, Nov. 3, continuing into Wednesday, Nov. 4.
Motorists traveling along Interstate 40, Interstate 30 and other major Arkansas highways should remain alert for wet pavement and reduced visibility during heavier showers.
The National Weather Service has not identified a specific flooding threat in the supplied precipitation outlook.
Cooler Temperatures Follow Rain Temperatures are also expected to cool as the storm system moves through Arkansas.
Some communities could see afternoon highs dropping into the 60s later in the week, following warmer conditions earlier in November.
Residents should monitor updated forecasts for changes in rainfall totals, timing and any potential weather advisories.
