Watseka, IL A Watseka man was arrested Sunday night following a narcotics raid at his home on the 200 block of W Hickory. According to the Watseka Police Department, officers executed a search warrant and located a substance believed to be heroin. The suspect, a 34 year old male, reportedly resisted arrest and was tased by responding officers before being taken into custody.
The individual was transported to the Iroquois County Jail on charges including possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and resisting a peace officer. However, following a detention hearing on Monday, a judge ordered the man's release pending trial in accordance with the provisions of the SAFE T Act, which eliminated cash bail in Illinois.
Authorities stated the investigation remains ongoing. The name of the suspect has not yet been released as official charges are processed by the Iroquois County State’s Attorney’s office.
