LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Open enrollment for 2027 health insurance begins Sunday, Nov. 1, giving Arkansas residents an opportunity to compare Marketplace plans, review premiums and determine whether they qualify for financial assistance.
Arkansas residents can purchase individual Marketplace coverage through HealthCare.gov . The 2027 open enrollment period runs from Nov. 1, 2026, through Jan. 15, 2027 .
The Arkansas Insurance Department has also launched its 2027 rate and benefit comparison tools, allowing residents to review plans available by county, age and metal level before selecting coverage.
Arkansas residents can compare 2027 premiums by county Health insurance prices can vary substantially across Arkansas depending on a consumer's age, location and the plan selected.
The Arkansas Insurance Department's 2027 rate tool allows residents to compare monthly premiums by county, age and metal level , including Catastrophic, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum plans.
The displayed prices represent premiums before Advance Premium Tax Credits are applied , meaning many residents may ultimately pay substantially less than the listed rate.
The department says the majority of Arkansans obtaining coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace have received Advance Premium Tax Credits.
Four major Marketplace brands appear in Arkansas for 2027 Arkansas' 2027 plan comparison system lists Marketplace options from:
Ambetter from Arkansas Health & Wellness Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield Health Advantage Octave Available plans and benefits vary by county.
The state comparison system allows residents to examine deductibles, maximum out of pocket costs, co pays, coinsurance, prescription coverage and provider network information before choosing a plan.
What Arkansas residents should check Little Rock area residents and consumers statewide should compare more than their monthly health insurance premium.
Consumers should review:
Monthly premiums Deductibles Co pays and coinsurance Maximum out of pocket costs Prescription drug coverage Doctor and hospital networks Eligibility for premium tax credits The Arkansas Insurance Department notes that using in network doctors and medical services is generally less expensive than receiving care outside a plan's preferred provider network.
Residents should also update their expected 2027 household income and family information because those details can affect eligibility for premium tax credits and other Marketplace savings.
Financial assistance can significantly change premiums Arkansas' published 2027 rates do not include federal premium tax credits.
Eligible residents with household income above 138% of the federal poverty level may qualify for Advance Premium Tax Credits that reduce their monthly insurance premium.
Consumers with income between 138% and 250% of the federal poverty level may also qualify for additional assistance that reduces out of pocket costs when they select a Silver plan.
Arkansans with income at or below 138% of the federal poverty level may qualify for coverage through ARHOME , depending on eligibility. The Arkansas Insurance Department says ARHOME pays the premium for qualifying participants and limits certain out of pocket costs.
Enrollment deadlines matter Arkansas residents can compare and purchase Marketplace plans during open enrollment from Nov. 1 through Jan. 15 .
After the annual enrollment period ends, most consumers need to qualify for a Special Enrollment Period before purchasing or changing Marketplace coverage.
Qualifying events can include losing other health coverage, changes in employment, getting married, having a baby or certain changes in household status.
Arkansas residents can compare 2027 health insurance rates and benefits through the Arkansas Insurance Department's consumer tools and enroll in Marketplace coverage through HealthCare.gov .
