Arkansas US 62 Crash: Six Fatalities in Clay County Collision

Corning, AR – A devastating accident on U.S. Highway 62 in Clay County resulted in the deaths of six individuals on Monday. 

Arkansas State Police report that the collision, which occurred at the intersection with Arkansas State Highway 135 near Corning, involved a tractor-trailer and an SUV.

According to authorities, the tragic incident took place at around 12:23 p.m. The tractor-trailer’s driver was subsequently airlifted to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis with non-life-threatening injuries. 

At the scene, the Clay County Coroners’ Office pronounced four adults and two minors deceased, with autopsies planned at the Arkansas State Crime Lab to establish their identities. The aftermath of the crash saw U.S. 62 closed for an extended period, disrupting traffic for more than six hours as emergency services managed the scene.
