Arlington Heights, IL – Police in Arlington Heights are investigating a late-night shooting at the Red Roof Inn on West Algonquin Road that left one man injured.

Officers responded to a 911 call Friday at 11:30 p.m., reporting a man in the motel lobby with a gunshot wound. Preliminary details suggest several suspects knocked on a second-floor room’s door before confronting two sleeping occupants. When one man exited, one of the suspects allegedly shot him. The wounded man ran to the lobby for help while the other occupant also sought safety.

Responding officers found the victim unresponsive and began CPR. Arlington Heights paramedics took over, transporting him to a Level 1 trauma center, where he remains stable.

The Arlington Heights Police Department activated an Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System, bringing nine officers from nearby areas. Detectives collected multiple shell casings outside the room and are reviewing physical and digital evidence. All four suspects fled in a white sedan and remain at large.

The scene is secure, with no current threats reported. The investigation is ongoing.
