Lake County, IL Hosts DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Lake County, IL – Lake County residents can safely dispose of unused medications during the DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day next Saturday, October 26. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. across various local drop-off locations.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, accepted items include prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, and supplements. Prohibited items include needles, liquids, and illegal drugs. The goal of the initiative is to prevent medications from falling into the wrong hands and reduce prescription drug misuse.

Drop-off locations include Avon Township Office in Round Lake Park, Beach Park Village Hall, Deer Park Vehe Barn, and Warren Township Center in Gurnee. No questions will be asked, making it easy for residents to dispose of unwanted items.
