Austin, TX – South-Central Texas is gearing up for a scorching weekend and week ahead as temperatures are set to soar into the triple digits. The National Weather Service in Austin-San Antonio forecasts dry and hot conditions with highs ranging from the upper 90s to 103 degrees. Heat index values are expected to hover near 100-107 degrees this afternoon, with some isolated areas possibly reaching 108-109 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service, the intense heat will persist through the weekend and continue into the next week. A possible heat advisory has been issued for Saturday, and isolated storms may develop on Sunday. Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-to-upper 90s throughout the week, with minimal weather impacts aside from the heat.

San Antonio is forecasted to hit 98 degrees today, with highs of 100 degrees on Saturday. Sunday will see a slight dip to 96 degrees, followed by consistent highs of 96-98 degrees from Monday through Wednesday. Overnight lows will stay warm, ranging from 76 to 79 degrees.
