Jackson, KY – An active weather pattern is expected to bring daily showers and thunderstorms to East Kentucky this week, raising concerns about localized flooding on Monday and Tuesday. High temperatures will remain in the 80s through Tuesday before climbing in the latter half of the week.

According to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, the area will see AM fog followed by afternoon showers and storms today, with highs ranging from 81 to 90 degrees. The likelihood of precipitation today is between 50% to 90%.

Monday and Tuesday are predicted to experience significant rainfall, with the potential for localized flooding. Monday’s temperatures will range from 66 to 69 degrees at night and 81 to 85 degrees during the day, with a 60% to 80% chance of storms. On Tuesday, temperatures will hover between 67 and 70 degrees at night and reach highs of 85 to 89 degrees during the day, with precipitation chances increasing to 70% to 90%.

Wednesday’s forecast indicates continued showers and possible storms, especially in the eastern regions. Night temperatures are expected to be between 68 and 71 degrees, with daytime highs from 85 to 93 degrees. The chance of rain will vary from 40% to 70%.

As the week progresses, the temperatures are set to climb. Thursday and Friday are expected to be partly cloudy, with highs of 91 and 90 degrees, respectively. The humidity will make it feel even hotter, adding to the discomfort.
