Illinois Tornadoes: EF-0 Twisters Confirmed in Elburn and South Chicago

Chicago, IL – Tornadoes touched down in Illinois last night, with the National Weather Service confirming an EF-0 tornado in Elburn and two EF-0 tornado paths on the south side of Chicago.

According to the National Weather Service Chicago, survey teams are continuing to investigate the damage from the storms. So far, they have identified an EF-0 tornado in the Elburn area and two additional EF-0 tornado paths on Chicago’s south side.

Additional information and track maps will be made available as soon as possible. However, due to more severe weather expected later today, it is possible that the track maps won’t be available until tomorrow.

Residents are urged to stay informed and take precautions as further severe weather is anticipated. The National Weather Service will provide updates as their teams complete assessments and gather more data on the tornadoes’ paths and impacts.
