Arkansas Grocery Store Shooting: Three Dead, Eleven Injured

Fordyce, Ark. — Three people were killed and eleven others injured in a shooting at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce late this morning. At approximately 11:38 a.m., Arkansas State Police (ASP) responded to reports of gunfire at the store.

Among the fourteen victims, eleven were civilians, with three fatalities confirmed. One law enforcement officer was shot and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The shooter was critically injured after being shot by police and has been taken into custody.

The community is reeling from the incident as investigators work to determine the motive behind the attack. The identities of the victims and the shooter have not yet been released.

“It’s tragic, and our hearts are broken,” said Col. Mike Hagar. “Our prayers, along with Governor Sanders and the entire state of Arkansas, will be with this community and those affected victims.”

The Mad Butcher grocery store remains closed as law enforcement continues to process the scene. Residents of Fordyce are urged to remain alert and report any information related to the shooting to the authorities.
