Des Moines, IA – A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for western Iowa until 2 a.m. Sunday. The National Weather Service in Des Moines warns of damaging wind gusts and the possibility of isolated tornadoes.
According to the National Weather Service, the storms could bring hail up to the size of ping pong balls and winds reaching 75 mph. Residents are urged to stay alert and seek shelter as necessary. The affected areas include Carroll, Perry, Ames, and Fort Dodge.
