Indianapolis, IN – Empty Boat Leads Neighbors to Discover Body in Lake

Indianapolis, IN – Neighbors discovered an empty boat on Northdale Lake Wednesday afternoon, leading to the tragic finding of a deceased man in the water. Indianapolis Fire Department (IFD) divers were dispatched to 5750 Northdale Lake Court and quickly recovered the man’s body.

According to the IFD, neighbors called 911 after noticing the unattended boat, noting the man’s regular presence on the lake. Within minutes of arrival, divers located the man and transported him to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department and the Department of Natural Resources are investigating the incident.
