The Quad Cities area faces a varied weather pattern today, leading into a generally warmer weekend, as reported by the National Weather Service. Today, temperatures will hover in the low to mid-70s with a 20-60% chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, primarily affecting areas east of the Mississippi River. These storms could be intense, potentially producing hail and gusty winds, propelled by southwest winds of 10 to 20 mph.

The weather will shift to clearer skies by Friday, with temperatures climbing to the upper 70s and low 80s. It will be mainly sunny and warm, with a minimal chance (20% or less) of an isolated storm, and lighter winds from the south-southeast at 5 to 15 mph.

The warming trend continues into the weekend, with low to mid-80s expected on Saturday and Sunday. While most areas will remain dry, there’s a slight chance of storms northwest of the Quad Cities. Winds will generally be from the south at 10 to 20 mph on Saturday, contributing to a pleasant but variable weekend overall.
