Lake County, IL – The Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Group (SIG) celebrated a landmark year in 2023, marked by significant achievements in drug enforcement and public safety.

Sheriff John D. Idleburg highlighted the critical role of SIG in safeguarding the community, particularly through the seizure of over 17,000 fentanyl-laced pills, which significantly contributed to preventing potential overdose deaths in Lake County.
