Posey County, IN – A high-speed pursuit on Interstate 64 turned perilous Saturday night when a Missouri man, driving at speeds that reportedly reached 130 mph, ended in a dramatic crash.

According to Indiana State Police reports the chase began at approximately 7:05 p.m. after Trooper Backes detected a 2015 Infiniti speeding eastward at 95 mph. Attempts to apprehend the driver led to a dangerous acceleration, with Trooper Vennekotter recording the vehicle’s speed soaring to 130 mph.

The chase culminated when the driver, identified as 21-year-old Amir Tuzlakovic of St. Louis, MO, veered off the I-64 at the Poseyville exit, collided into a 1997 Ford F250 pickup truck, severely injuring its driver, a 52-year-old man from Owensville. The collision necessitated the extraction of the pickup’s driver by the Poseyville Volunteer Fire Department before his transportation to Deaconess Midtown Hospital for treatment.

Tuzlakovic now faces multiple charges including Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle and causing Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 5 Felony, among others, as he awaits his bond at the Posey County Jail. Indiana State Police remind the public that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
