Maryland – Bright skies over Baltimore today begin a steady summer warm-up that sends temperatures into the lower 90s by midweek. Storm chances also return periodically, creating several windows for changing travel conditions.

According to the National Weather Service Baltimore/Washington office, Baltimore reaches 83 degrees today under mostly sunny skies. Northeast winds remain light at 3 to 6 mph.

Baltimore’s Inner Harbor reported 70 degrees shortly before 9 a.m. Humidity stood at 47%, making the morning relatively comfortable before afternoon temperatures climb.

Tonight remains mostly clear with a low near 68.

Sunday turns hotter, reaching 89 degrees. A 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms develops after 2 p.m. Clouds increase as the afternoon progresses.

Keep outdoor plans flexible. A passing thunderstorm could briefly wet I-95, I-83, I-695 and city streets, although widespread rain is not indicated.

Monday pushes Baltimore to 90 degrees. A slight shower chance develops between 2 and 5 p.m. Thunderstorms then become possible after 5 p.m.

That 20% rain chance continues into Monday evening before conditions trend drier.

Hydrate regularly and move strenuous outdoor work toward cooler morning hours. Drivers should also watch for quickly changing pavement conditions beneath isolated storms.

The supplied Baltimore data does not identify a specific tornado threat. No snow, ice or near-freezing temperatures appear.

The Weather Prediction Center expects a front to extend into the Mid-Atlantic by Monday. Additional local alerts could follow if thunderstorms strengthen.
