Portsmouth, NH – A Maine motorcyclist faces multiple charges after allegedly removing and hiding her motorcycle’s registration plate before speeding away from a New Hampshire State Police trooper during an attempted traffic stop Wednesday morning.
According to New Hampshire State Police, Trooper Philip Sheehy attempted to stop a red 2026 Ducati Panigale for a registration violation on the Spaulding Turnpike in Portsmouth at approximately 6:19 a.m. Wednesday.
Police allege that after Sheehy activated his emergency lights, the rider reached behind her motorcycle, physically removed the registration plate and concealed it. She then allegedly accelerated away and dangerously passed other motorists while fleeing.
The trooper discontinued the attempted stop because of public safety concerns and began an investigation to identify the motorcyclist, according to state police.
Authorities identified the rider as Alexandra Littlefield, 20, of Lebanon, Maine. Police said Sheehy obtained an arrest warrant, which led to Littlefield’s arrest Thursday.
Littlefield was charged with felony reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and falsifying physical evidence. She also faces misdemeanor charges of disobeying a police officer, driving after revocation or suspension and obstructing government administration, along with violation-level charges of reckless operation and failure to display plates.
The charges are allegations, and Littlefield is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Police said Littlefield posted cash bail and was released. She is scheduled to be arraigned in Portsmouth District Court on Monday, Sept. 28.
