Cass County, MI – Two people were arrested Monday after a drug investigation led authorities to search a Jefferson Township residence in Cass County, Michigan, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, its Drug Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at approximately 1:30 p.m. Monday in the 26000 block of Pine Lake Street. The team was assisted by the sheriff’s office and a K-9 unit.
Detectives allegedly located methamphetamine and multiple items of suspected drug paraphernalia while searching the residence, authorities said.
A 34-year-old woman was arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office. A 29-year-old man was also arrested for alleged possession of methamphetamine.
Authorities did not publicly identify either person in the advisory. The sheriff’s office said their names are being withheld pending arraignment on the charges in Cass County’s 4th District Court.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the sheriff’s office did not provide additional details about the amount of suspected methamphetamine recovered or whether investigators expect additional arrests or charges.
Jefferson Township is in Cass County in southwestern Michigan, east of Cassopolis and within the broader South Bend-Michiana region.
