Lexington, SC – A Lexington woman is facing multiple charges after deputies say she allegedly stole and damaged several vehicles at a local dealership early Thursday morning.
According to the Lexington County Sheriffโs Department, the alleged incident happened Thursday in the 2500 block of South Lake Drive after deputies received a report of a suspicious vehicle near a dealership and body shop. Investigators say a deputy arrived and noticed a car with significant front-end damage, which was later allegedly connected to the dealership.
Authorities allege that 20-year-old DaโNiyah Shanessee Fulks is charged with three counts of grand larceny, two counts of breaking into motor vehicles, and one count each of malicious injury to real property and criminal conspiracy. Deputies further allege the vehicle initially spotted was driven through a gate at the dealership, and investigators later allegedly discovered four additional cars showing signs someone had repeatedly attempted to steal them.
According to officials, the investigation was still underway when deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle reported stolen from the same dealership. Fulks was allegedly inside that vehicle along with four minors. Authorities say she now also faces four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Fulks was taken into custody following the traffic stop and is currently being held at the Lexington County Detention Center. Deputies allege the minors found in the vehicle were taken into custody and later transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.
The case remains under investigation as deputies continue to gather details surrounding the alleged incidents.
