Harrison Township, MI – A 30-year-old Harrison Township man died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday night at a busy intersection in Harrison Township, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 10:39 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, to the intersection of Shook Road and Jefferson Avenue for a reported two-vehicle traffic crash.
Preliminary investigators determined that a gray Chevrolet Silverado, towing a trailer and traveling westbound on Shook Road, had the right of way. At the same time, a white Cadillac SRX traveling eastbound on Shook Road allegedly attempted to turn left onto northbound Jefferson Avenue.
Authorities said the Cadillac turned into the path of the Silverado, resulting in a collision. Following the impact, the Silverado left the roadway and struck an electrical pole on the northeast corner of the intersection.
The driver of the Cadillac, identified only as a 30-year-old Harrison Township man, was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Silverado, a 28-year-old man from Shelby Township, remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the crash investigation has been completed, and no additional information is being released at this time. No charges have been announced.
