WINNECONNE, Wis. – Authorities are investigating after three people were found dead inside a home Friday evening in the Village of Winneconne.
According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the Village of Winneconne Police Department, the City of Omro Police Department and the Sheriff’s Office responded at approximately 6:58 p.m. Friday, July 31, to a residence in the 500 block of Division Street for a reported medical incident and welfare check.
When first responders entered the home, they discovered three individuals deceased.
Because of the circumstances surrounding the case, the Village of Winneconne Police Department requested that the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office assume the role of primary investigating agency.
Investigators said evidence collected at the scene and information developed during the initial investigation indicate the incident was isolated, and officials emphasized there is no danger or ongoing threat to the public.
Authorities have not released the identities of the deceased or provided information about the cause or manner of death. Officials said the investigation remains active, and no additional details will be released at this time.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Winneconne Police Department, Omro Police Department, Winnebago County Medical Examiner’s Office, Winneconne-Poygan Fire Department First Responders and Lifestar-Southern Winnebago EMS.
