Jackson, Kentucky – Quiet weather across eastern Kentucky won’t last long. After a mainly dry Sunday, a cold front will move into the region early this week, bringing an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms Monday and Tuesday, with some storms potentially becoming strong to severe.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, Sunday will feature partly sunny skies with only a slight chance of an isolated shower. Afternoon highs will range from 83 to 88 degrees, while overnight lows fall into the mid-60s to around 70 degrees, providing a relatively comfortable end to the weekend.
The weather begins changing Monday as the approaching cold front increases moisture and instability across the Commonwealth. High temperatures are expected to reach 86 to 91 degrees, with thunderstorm chances increasing from 20% during the day to 60% by late afternoon and evening.
