Massachusetts Weather: Mostly Sunny Weekend Before Showers Return Early Next Week

Boston, Massachusetts – A stretch of comfortable summer weather will continue across Massachusetts through the weekend, giving residents several days of sunshine and seasonable temperatures before a more unsettled pattern returns early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Friday and Saturday will feature mostly sunny skies with temperatures near seasonal averages. Friday’s highs will range from 78 to 84 degrees with overnight lows between 52 and 62 degrees. Saturday remains pleasant, with highs of 77 to 85 degrees and lows from 53 to 63 degrees.

Sunday will bring a mix of sun and clouds across much of the state, with highs between 75 and 85 degrees. While most inland communities, including Boston, Worcester, Springfield, Lowell and Fitchburg, should stay dry, patchy clouds and areas of drizzle are possible across Cape Cod and the Islands as onshore flow increases.

The weather pattern begins to change Monday as afternoon showers and thunderstorms become possible, with highs ranging from 77 to 85 degrees. While rain will not be continuous, residents should be prepared for periods of wet weather that could affect the afternoon commute and outdoor activities.

The National Weather Service expects additional opportunities for showers and thunderstorms to continue through much of next week. Residents planning outdoor events should enjoy the dry conditions through the weekend while staying updated on changing weather early next week.
