Detroit, Michigan – Drivers, boaters and anyone with outdoor plans across Southeast Michigan will find ideal weather through Saturday, but conditions change quickly by Sunday as heat, humidity and the chance for thunderstorms return to the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, Friday and Saturday will remain dry with comfortable humidity levels as temperatures climb from the upper 70s and lower 80s Friday into the mid-80s Saturday. Sunshine will dominate both days, making for favorable conditions across Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, Flint, Port Huron, Monroe and surrounding communities.
The warming trend continues statewide through the weekend before a more humid air mass arrives Sunday. Afternoon highs are expected to reach the upper 80s, with some locations approaching 90 degrees. Increasing moisture will create the potential for scattered thunderstorms, especially later in the day. While widespread severe weather is not indicated in the graphic, any storm could bring brief heavy rain, lightning and gusty winds that may affect outdoor events and travel.
