Bristol, TN – A routine traffic stop in Bristol led to multiple felony drug and firearm charges after deputies allegedly discovered suspected methamphetamine, marijuana and a loaded revolver inside a vehicle.
According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy stopped a vehicle Wednesday afternoon on Paperville Road after observing it with a broken taillight and crossing the center line of the roadway.
Deputies said they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Tina Iman of Bristol, who allegedly told the deputy marijuana had been smoked inside the vehicle and turned over two marijuana joints.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, a subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 13 ounces of a substance believed to be methamphetamine, four orange pills believed to be Suboxone, additional marijuana, and a loaded revolver.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Vice and Narcotics Unit responded to assist with the investigation.
Authorities said Iman was charged with allegedly maintaining a dwelling where drugs are sold, manufacturing, delivering, or possessed; allegedly manufacturing, delivering, selling, or possessing methamphetamine; allegedly manufacturing, delivering, selling, or possessing a Schedule III controlled substance; allegedly possessing a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony; and allegedly simple possession or casual exchange.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Iman remains in the Sullivan County Jail. Her bond has been set at $150,000. As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
