A slight chance of thunderstorms develops Tuesday night as a cold front approaches, but widespread cooling is not expected immediately.
Motorists traveling along Interstate 40, Interstate 55, and Interstate 240 should keep extra water in their vehicles and avoid leaving children or pets inside parked cars, even for a few minutes. Outdoor workers should take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned areas and watch for signs of heat exhaustion.
