Pittsburgh, PA – A Pittsburgh man wanted in connection with a stabbing at a city car wash earlier this week has been taken into custody, according to the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Kevin M. Kraus, Joseph Brandt, 46, of Pittsburgh, was arrested Friday after detectives located him at a residence in Stowe Township.

Authorities said Brandt had been charged by Pittsburgh Police with aggravated assault following a stabbing at a car wash on Bajo Street off Becks Run Road. Investigators allege the victim was stabbed with a large knife during the incident.

The victim suffered a serious leg injury that required hospitalization, according to the sheriff’s office. Officials have not released additional information about the victim’s condition.

Detectives with the Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office said they developed information that Brandt was staying at a residence along 10th Street in Stowe Township. After arriving at the home, detectives made numerous announcements before establishing verbal contact with Brandt, who initially refused to come outside.

According to the sheriff’s office, after several minutes of speaking with detectives, Brandt surrendered peacefully. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Allegheny County Jail.
