Kalamazoo County, MI – A 34-year-old man died after an early morning stabbing in Oshtemo Township, and a suspect has been taken into custody on a homicide charge, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded at approximately 2:05 a.m. Thursday, July 16, to the 1300 block of Mt. Royal Drive following a report of a stabbing.
When deputies arrived, they found a 34-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Deputies, along with officers from assisting agencies, immediately began lifesaving measures before the victim was transported by Life Ambulance to a local hospital.
Despite those efforts, the victim was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Investigators said a 27-year-old male suspect was located and lodged at the Kalamazoo County Jail on a homicide charge. Authorities have not yet released the identities of either the victim or the suspect.
According to the sheriff’s office, detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing. Officials have not released information about what may have led to the incident or whether the victim and suspect knew one another.
