Glen Ellyn, IL – Drivers and residents around Lake Ellyn should prepare for temporary traffic changes this weekend as the Village of Glen Ellyn hosts the Ray Whalen Builders Tour of Lake Ellyn bicycle race.
According to the Glen Ellyn Police Department, temporary one-way traffic patterns and parking restrictions will be in effect Saturday, July 18, 2026, to accommodate the annual event.
Officials said residents may notice temporary “No Parking” signs and one-way traffic signs being installed in the neighborhood surrounding Lake Ellyn in the days leading up to the race. The signs are being placed early to help residents and visitors prepare for the event.
The police department emphasized that the parking restrictions and one-way traffic changes will only be enforced on Saturday, July 18.
A traffic map released by the village shows several streets around Lake Ellyn will operate as temporary one-way roadways, while designated areas will have parking restrictions throughout the event. Motorists traveling through the neighborhood should expect delays and follow posted signs and directions from public safety personnel.
Residents who live near Lake Ellyn or plan to visit the area Saturday are encouraged to review the official traffic map and allow extra travel time.
