St. Louis, MO – A stretch of sunny and increasingly warm weather is expected across the St. Louis metro area through Thursday before showers and thunderstorms return heading into the weekend and early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will bring sunny skies and pleasant spring temperatures with highs near 75 degrees across eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois. Northwest winds could gust up to 22 mph during the afternoon before calmer conditions arrive Wednesday night.

Forecasters say dry weather continues Thursday with another sunny afternoon and highs near 75 degrees. However, moisture begins returning to the region late Thursday night as scattered showers and thunderstorms develop after midnight.

Rain and thunderstorm chances increase Friday across the St. Louis area, especially during the afternoon hours. Temperatures will continue warming despite the unsettled pattern, with highs expected to reach near 84 degrees Friday and around 89 degrees Saturday.

Additional rounds of scattered thunderstorms remain possible Saturday into early next week as summerlike heat builds across the Midwest. Sunday is forecast to stay mostly sunny with highs near 92 degrees, while Monday could climb to around 94 degrees with additional thunderstorm chances developing.

Residents are encouraged to monitor changing weather conditions through the weekend, especially for any stronger thunderstorms that may develop during periods of increasing heat and humidity.
